ELECTION OF GDEA OFFICERS

MAY 8, 2008

     Voting will be held in each building on Thursday, May 8th, 2008 to elect GDEA officers for the 2008 - 2009 school year.  Officers are needed for the following positions:

• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Assistant Treasurer
• Contract Managers** for each of the following:  Unit A, Unit C, and Unit D.

    **In order to be a Contract Manager, a candidate must have served on the Representative Assembly for at least one year prior to assuming the duties of a Contract Manager.

    Anyone who is an active member of the Association may be a candidate for office. A description of the duties and responsibilities of each position can be found on pages 3 - 7 in the Groton Dunstable Educators' Association Bylaws. 

     Candidates for office shall submit a petition to the Elections Committee (Gretchen Murray) signed by at least ten (10) active members of the GDEA.  Signatures on the petition must represent at least two (2) schools.  Candidates may include biographical information, credentials and/or statement of why they are running.  Petitions for Candidacy can be obtained from Gretchen Murray or online by accessing the e-mail notice of the elections in the GDEA folder.  Please send your petitions to Gretchen Murray at Swallow Union.  Petitions for Candidacy must be received by May 1, 2008.
